Biography
Marie Gairet is a versatile artist, singer, pianist, composer, and performer who skillfully blends the worlds of classical and jazz. Trained at the Haute École de Musique in Lausanne, she has collaborated with big names such as Natalie Dessay, Yvan Cassar, and Mathieu Michel. She can be regularly heard on RTS with her duo Ruĝa. She has recently enriched her journey by immersing herself in the Ghanaian scene, participating in festivals like Nova Jazz and Cully Jazz.
At the end of 2024, she joined the DKSJ project, bringing together young Swiss talents around Chris Cheek for a national tour. That same year, she created the Marie Gairet Septet, a project where French chanson, jazz, and classical music meet. The Septet combines original compositions, improvisation, and poetic texts.
